Adi, I own 2 winder 2's . The second NIB was bought as a backup as I would
find it difficult - if not impossible to manage without one.
USES....Invaluable for macro work and copy work where you do not want the
camera to move during wind on.
Photographing school teams and yeargroups...camera on tripod remotely fired.
Very useful for tripod work, enables wind on without camera moving.
Good for portrait work.
Provides good handgrip on occasions.
For me, noise is not an issue, sometimes, when taking school groups it is
actually an advantage to hear that shutter has fired.
I take winder off when not in use...But it is always in my camera
bag...Lovely "feel" to shutter release.
My Motor Drive 1 has had much less use, I find the pistol grip battery
holder is too bulky. I would use it a lot more if it had a ni-cad
pack.....But then I would need a charger etc. It seems quieter than the
Winder 2 however.
