: Another 3Ti-flash question:
: Does the OM-3Ti have a pattern on the 1st curtain for OTF-flash?
: When not - How does it take the effect of ambient light into accout?
: This matters when you have a combination of flash and ambieent light.
: - Not unusual with a 1/60th second shutter speed.

The cuttern pattern is used with Automatic OM cameras to measure OTC: Off
The *Curtain* for available light at 1/60~1/1000 (1/2000) sec. OTF flash
always reads Off The *Film* so the OM-3Ti doesn't need this pattern.

What you can do is to select a shutter speed (1-1/60 sec) / aperture
combination that is balanced for the background (you can first turn off the
flash and use the spot meter), then use the exposure compensation dial
(negative compensation) to reduce the flash output. Longer shutter speed ->
more effect of available light; less negative (or positive) compensation of
the dial -> more effect of flash light. A positive compensation would be
needed for strong backlit scenes where the OTF flash logic would turn off
the flash too quickly.
