You're welcome to try this, but don't get your hopes up. Every airline,
every airport, and often every terminal is different in security procedures.
They'll all tell you they're doing just what the rules say, even when they
do things differently from the last airport you went to or the last time you
went to the same airport. It's a crapshoot.

Best recommendation: Shoot slow film which is less likely to be fogged;
hand-carry your film, DO NOT PUT IN CHECKED BAGGAGE; ask for hand
inspection, but don't argue if they refuse - you won't convince the guy with
the M-16, or the cop they call to come explain things to you if you make too
much of a stink - and yes, they WILL call the cops at the drop of a hat.
Your choices are simple, and exactly two: do things their way, or don't fly.

For now, you're dealing with minimum wage idiots who can't get another job.
Hopefully, things will get better later this year once the Feds take it all
over. (And for me, a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, to say that should give
you some idea of just how bad I think things are now!)

I've been traveling regularly - an average of one trip a week - since
September 11. It's a royal pain, and not likely to improve any time soon.
