I have had many week-long ski tours in Lapland, a number of them starting
from Abisko, or other stations on the way over to Narvik. One of the best
tours started in Narvik and finished ten days later in Abisko, with water
running everywhere - it was the tour where we always had 'afternoon
troubles'. I hope that your weather is better! I have to admit that I
almost always left my OM equipment behind, and used a Rollei 35 or an
Olympus XA; the weight of my pack, including all the food, started close to
30Kg, which took some of the joy out of the first days skiing. Your OM
selection looks good, though. We seldom camped out, but used the Swedish
and Norwegian huts. We camped out on our Sarek tours, though (no huts).
I look forward to seeing your photos; I hope that I will be able to
recognize the locations.
Our train trips used to take 29 hours, by the way, as we started from
Copenhagen. I remember very well the views from the train after one crossed
the Arctic circle.

Hi,
On Wednesday I will go for the trip I have talked about earlier. After 17
hours on a train me and my girlfriend will be in Abisko (webcam @
www.abisko.nu). Together we will be mostly outside for the week to come
and hopefully we will have great weather because I will bring my last
rolls of Kodachrome 25. I have minimized my equipment and will only bring
my OM-1n, 28/3.5, 135/2.8 and 35-70/3.6. Maybe I will bring my T20 that
arrived today being my first buy from that famous auction site. But then I
will have to take the shoe 4 and that adds weight, but if I cut my
toothbrush in half it will probably be the same weight :) (yes, I have
done that before but that time I sacrificed the half brush for
chocolate... )
Hopefully I wont exceed my quota on the mail server with mail from this
great list :)
