Andrew -- I think the S/N > 1,100,000 is for the 50/1.4 lenses. The MIJ
50/1.8 lenses that I have are more like 4,000,000+ S/N.

But I'm interested in the response because I have a 55/1.2 with a similar
problem. The aperture stops down smartly, but is a bit sluggish in
reopening. This happens only with the first couple exposures, then it seems
to 'warm up'. What is the prognosis, and how involved is a fix? I don't use
this lens as much as my 50/1.4's... Someday I'll get a 50/1.2, just in the
interest of completness...
