Schings said, up through the OM-2S. I like the buttery smooth
geared-just-right film advance and precision-built feel of the OM-1, OM-1n,
and OM-2n (don't have a -2, but it would apply there, as well); simple needle
meter; small size, light weight; cold-weather reliability. Dead battery? No
problem, just shoot away, seat of the pants and bracket a stop either way --

The OM-2S is a whole LOT of camera for the pesos, offering manual spot

but I never leave home without a spare set, so I never have to worry about a
"dead" camera. No replacement circuits available, so, if the circuit board
dies... I'm willing to live with that possibility. As far as I'm concerned,
in just 1 year, I've already gotten my $$ worth out of it. I'd either get
another -2s, or move up to a 4T/Ti if they keep showing up for $250. How
could any Zuikoholic resist? I have all these Zuikos, see, and no better
half giving me "The Look". 4T/Ti has adjustable diopter for these rapidly
aging eyes, multi-spot capability, more. But, if no 4T/Ti available for what
I could afford at the moment, I'd pick up another -2S in a HEARTBEAT. It
too, is a classic in MY book.
And lastly, but certainly not least of what I like about my OMs: we have
several eminently qualified, honest, reliable, professional service techs
across the country (Clint in TX, John in NY, K&S in Fresno) who can keep
these little jewels working like new. And this great list full of helpful,
funny, slightly kooky, knowledgeable guys & gals. I take great comfort
knowing that just about any question or problem that arises can be answered,
resolved, or repaired by either this wonderful list or one of our trusted
techs. You can't beat that!
