Hi John, and all the generous people who have given thoughtful advise on the
ugly OM 3, I thank you for helping me understand better what kind of a
choice I am making. Technically , yes this OM 3 is a cheap way to obtain
multi spot metering that I have long wanted ( which is why I wanted an OM
4t). And in additoin the 2000 shutter speed should add one more stop to
reduce exposure when doing fill in flash which is a problem when in very
bright sunlight using fast film etc.

At this point the only thing holding me back is the realization that I
really do not need this.....and the arrogant behavior of the shop keeper who
almost kicked me out for asking too many questions, taking time to handle
the camera and then NOT buying it on the spot. He was really pissed offf! He
lectured me about having wasted his time, that he was busy etc. This is the
sort of small camera shop keeper who has been in the trade for well over 30
years....so many old cameras. Some nice, but mostly ugly.

And almost lost among the heap is an M1 ! I have actually looked over that
each time I go to that old street of camera shops but really cannot imagine
paying USD 500? Besides ever since I saw it, I was told that the owner was
not selling it.

Now that I have met the owner, the only thing that might stop me from buying
it is his bad attitude....

Regards

Titoy
