It's not that far out of line at current USPS rates. If you
figure the shipping weight is 4lbs, Priority with $250 insurance
plus delivery confirmation is $10.85. If he packs it in a
heavier box or wants signature confirmation, it would quickly go
over $12. (It's surprising how quickly postal options add up
sometimes. When selling things myself, I prefer to use Priority,
but let the buyer decide whether to use insurance or accept the
risk of loss.)
