Actually it's looks pretty typical of what some of my gear looked like back
in the 80's when it was used every day. Remember, the third-party stuff
like those tele-converters didn't have stellar finishes. After 20-30 yrs,
it tends to rub off. Most converters saw a lot of life at the bottom of
some camera bag, coming out in those emergency situations when you forgot
something longer, but better.
