Film formats larger than 35mm film, and smaller than the 4" x 5" (or larger) 
films used in view cameras.

Various medium-format dimensions exist: 6x6, 6x7, "645" (i.e., 6x4.5), etc.  
Those three (all measured in centimetres) are the most popular.

Popular medium-format cameras include the Pentax 645, the Zenza Bronica, the 
Mamiya, etc.  Poke around on B&H Photo's website (www.bhphoto.com) for an idea 
of what these look like.  They're all bigger than an Olympus, of course.  They 
all take pictures which can support much higher levels of magnification for 
prints, so doing (say) 2' x 3' prints are quite possible.
