Macro flash wouldn't have helped me anyway. Today was
very nice and sunny in the morning and I had no
problem getting up to 1/250 to 1/500 at f8. the auto
shutter of the 4T works superbly at giving correctly
exposed shots and I wouldn't try to get use manual on
this since a: I don't have the experience yet and b:
the camera meter doesn't give correct readings. The
onl wierd experience I've had so far was tring to take
an extreme closeup of a daffodil cone petal which of
course had a wholly yellow background. The pic was
severely underexposed or something or the film
failed(portra 160NC).

Next weekend hopefully I'll have the 3221S and can try
it out. The advantages I'm percieving are this... 4
pounds vs 6, 17.5in closed length vs 25.2 (or over 30
in with the 3047 head) (and i'll save even more height
by using something other than it) still keeping a
respectable 50 in maximum height. Familiarity of use
since its basically the same tripod only smaller. I am
tring for lighter, a whole lot shorter, while still
keeping the option of interchangability of heads and
Bogen build quality and sturdiness (the 3221 makes all
those 'consumer' tripods look like three sticks held
together with chewing gum) And I found the tripod for
under $100.
