If they don't sell one of a certain item in, let's say for the sake of
numbers, a 5 year span, they consider it a part that is just taking up
space in a drawer, so it most likely gets dumped. 85-250 is old, that's why
there aren't any in stock. Japan most likely doesn't have them either, they
throw them away, it's a business decision, a tax deduction and that's all!
All the complaining in the world won't make any difference, especially for a
camera system they are getting away from.
