I bid what I can afford to bid... if I really want something, I bid high
enough that I hope I get the highest bid... but if I don't, well I guess
that means, much as I wanted it, I didn't want it *enough*. But if I lose
out to a known list member, then I feel a little bit better about it because
I know where the obsession comes from...
