For portraiture and product photography, there is only one film
in my bag and that's Provia. For home photography, I'll just
use Fuji 100 print film. Unfortunately, the kodalux labs refuse
to print this correctly so the skintones are all lilly white.
Having them professionaly reprinted results in good skin tones
nearly the same as Gold 100.

In slide films, I believe that the emulsions are similar between
say Astia and Sensia II, but the base is different. Supposably,
the milky base of the pro emulsions is better. Can't prove it
past me. Under that premise, neg films (which have a clear
base) shouldn't scan well.

I like Velvia and ProviaF and am willing to pay extra for them.
There is no equivelent non-pro emulsion.

Why slides over negs? Filing, editing, storage. I ruthlessly
edit slides, but negs are much harder to break apart and toss
the losers. I have a lot of garbage in my neg sheets.
