In an OM-1, the cds cells that operate the light meter are located above the focusing screen, next to the eyepiece. When you change to the clearer 2 series screens, the amount of incident light falling on the mater is changed and thus gives a couple of stops of error. In an OM-2 this is not a problem because light is read from the film plane. An OM-1 would have to be modified to give the correct reading.

Good day :

Usually on me OM1 I use a 1-1 Focusing Screen, but some times is to dificult
use it. To me is more natural the 2-13 that always I have on the OM-2(n).
Yesterday I buy a new 2-13 for the OM1 and found when I read at the Focusing
Screens table that the 2-4 and 2-13 ¨ Cannot be mounted on the OM-1(n) and
OM-2(n).
¿¿??? Can anybody explainme the reason ?.
