Albert,

You should test all of your lenses. You will all of your lenses,
regardless of size/brand/model will have imp4roved optical
charactaristics at f5.6 or f8 over wide open. with some lenses it is
very significant, with others, not so much. If you are looking for the
ultimate in sharpness, you should test each lens at evey aperature, and
preferably at different distances as well. That way you can find THAT
lens' particular sweet spot.
