IMO, there are two categories of water pictures... In one, the shutter speed
is high enough to 'freeze' the water movement, usually requiring either
1/2000 or electronic flash. In the other, the shutter speed is slow, and the
water looks 'blurred' or 'fuzzy' and dreamlike. Tripod is usually needed.

In-between shutter speeds usually wind up with the water slightly fuzzy, but
not so artistically so... I'd pack a tripod, try some slower and also some
at the high shutter speeds, and throw in a few at midrange speeds. Sort of
bracketing for motion instead of exposure, using shutter speeds as the
variable.

Post some results, I'm curious to see what this looks like By the
description, I'm picturing something akin to the water show at the Bellagio
Casino in Las Vegas... very nice to watch but I'm not sure how to photograph
it without using video...
