I'm not sure why you say this. I've been using Photoshop for a fairly long time and have never really "fixed" a basically unacceptable image. Analog or digital, GIGO is a first principle.

I suppose it depends on what one finds acceptable or unacceptable. I'm always just trying to get something close to the original beauty of the film and don't spend much time agonizing over the throwaways. I suppose there are ways to use Photoshop to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but that sort of time spent would be my notion of Life in Hell.
