Tom,

I concur with Tom Scales: OM-G.

If she were older [Frosh/Soph H.S.] and serious about photography I would suggest an OM-PC (OM-40) which was the zenith of the OM-10 evolution and is the next best thing to an OM-2S or OM-4 (it's similar in concept to them) but not a disaster if it's damaged or stolen.

OM-10 comment:
I had one that had been a "closet queen" with a sticky magnet. Was able to free it up and get it working reasonably well by bolting on a Winder 2 and continuously fire the shutter about 1000 times. The "stickiness" comes from lubricating oil migrating to the closing curtain release magnet and congealing on it. IIRC storing it for a long time with the shutter cocked guarantees a sticky shutter. Had it CLA'ed and sold it (had an OM-1n, OM-2S and OM-4; didn't need an OM-10).

Tom,

Start her off with an OM-G (OM-20) instead.
