Yep; I think the time is coming soon when most will simply turn down non-digital material. "Sorry, we are not eqipped to handle anything else..".

not the problem, it's the latter. Our thee publications are now
 'direct-to-press'.... right from the computers in our graphics area
directly to the printer in Louisville, KY. Big savings in time - allows
much later deadlines, and in money - not paying someone else to
'paste-up' the pages. (Plus, not paying union printers... a constant
aggravation to the unions when I was in the newspaper end of
the business), and a huge improvement in quality control - you see
exactly what you are sending and how it will look. Could we scan
traditional phots? Sure, but why bother? Very few pix in trade
publications run larger than 4X6 and digi is perfect for that.
