This is exactly what I think, and wanted to say. 
Film and shutter cutain metering is ok. Viewfinder indication and 
manual mode can be wrong.
The only thing to consider in auto-mode, when shifting, is that the
correct exposure can be up to two stops faster than indicated.
And select a apperture, which indicates a shutter speed of max. 
1/250s (1/500s for OM4). Otherwise you might get a overexposure, 
not because of the ADM, but because the shutter can`t do more :-(.

Oh. would be nice for someone with a OM4: 
Using memory mode with the ADM. The camera stores and
 indicate the determined speed on the shutter curtain after the first exposure. 
This would be a way to find out the differences -should be?
