Cameras and guns are alike in many ways, primarily in that both are
precision instruments. But the principal similarity, and the one I think
most relevant to the current discussion, is that both are relatively mature
technologies. The photograph a competent photographer takes today with a
1930s Leica could well be indistinguishable from the one an equally
competent photographer takes with the newest Nikon point-and-shoot
wonderbrick.

I have the 1851 Colt Navy revolver that my great-great grandfather carried
in the service of the Confederate States of America in the War of Northern
Aggression. With it, I can kill you just as dead as I can with my
two-year-old Glock Model 23.

The difference in each instance is mostly one of convenience and bells and
whistles (and plastic). The results can be the same.

Walt

P.S. Please note that I didn't mention anything about SUVs. :-)
