Ian,
I examined the well focused photo, and I think there is a letter in front of
the word Zuiko, making this a SC lens. Perhaps an email to the seller is in
order (and make sure the photos wern't shot with this lens!).
My 300 is SC, and I've done well with it. The lens has a generous shade, and
I am happy with it.
Then again, if I was getting a new one, I would want to get the MC version,
or pay accordingly.
