Thanks for the info Clint! Next time I will know what to do. It was not a real 
problam
as I had the OM-3 along as well and my daughter used that for the studio flash. 
I
tested the PC socket today and it works fine with normal flash.

This discussion reminds me of a scathing attack on John Hermansons service 
work, the
bulk of which centered around the fact that the repaired camera (an OM-1 I 
believe)
would not fire studio flash!
