Judging from the shape of the dent, it looks like they put something
"broadly sharp edged" (a screwdriver? a chisel?) on it, and gave it a big
smack. Now, of course it wouldn't make sense that someone would
intentionally do that, but at least the damage looks like something like
that happened. Perhaps by some freak accident it got caught between
something that had such a sharp edge on one side (a metal door?!?) and got
jammed in there with a lot of force...
