Yup, Bill, been there. I am learning to live with glasses going in and out
of air conditioning in the Texas summertime.

There was the time I rode for an hour in a bus on a birding expedition to a
ranch in far south Texas. Stowed my Tamron 400/4 on the overhead luggage
rack so it wouldn't get stepped on. Got out with the crowd and shuffled off
to shoot the obliging ferruginous pygmy owl posing in a cottonwood (as I
recall). Do you have any idea how long it takes that much glass to warm to
above dew point after cold-soaking next to the bus air conditioning vent for
an hour? About an hour. I did eventually get the shot, but the owl looks a
little pissed at waiting that long for me.

snip

and realized the glasses were upstairs on the desk. Ran back ins! ide,
upstairs, grabbed the glasses went back outside, started to focus and the
glasses are now totally fogged up. Dang, double dang and a few other words
I learned in the Navy. Well, actually, I knew them before the Navy. They
were part of my qualifications for enlistment. Got the glasses to the right
temperature and dried them off and then took the body off to install the
extension tube . . . now I had a fogged up mirror. I really do have to go
to work, the hummingbird can wait until later and there is one thing I am
absolutely sure about . . . the rest of the weekend has got to better than
the way today started. I hope everyone has a great weekend and captures
some wonderful images that surpass the verbal one I have just shared with
you. Bill Barber
