Thanks everyone who sent positive advice. A lot of it was just what I was
looking for. And no, I'm not joining a monastery, calling in sick or having
gear problems.

John Lind's site was a very good recommendation, thanks Bill and others who
suggested it

This actually shouldn't be too tough - the couple had a quiet reg. office
wedding earlier and are doing this as a larger event for friends and
families. It's mostly outside in the 'Bamboo Park', Glengarriff, so some
good backgrounds. I talked to the groom this morning. They're pretty laid
back about it - they prioritise 4 shots: the couple, couple + her family,
couple + his family, couple + friends, "anything else is a bonus". The groom
doesn't like photographers intruding, so he's happy to rely on casual
snappers for reception shots. He understands the responsibility, and wants
me to enjoy the reception as a guest.

The main thrust of advice that I'm taking in is:

1. KEEP IT SIMPLE - thanks, John Lind
2. PLENTY of batteries and film
3. Check it all out before hand - locations, couples wishes, gear
functioning
4. Declare your non pro involvement and foster help and co-operation

Distilling the many bits of advice on a practical level:

For the outdoor portraits/groups I'm probably going to use OM 4Ti, 50/1.8,
F280. I'll shoot NPC 160 if it's bright - because I've bought it already!
And a Kodak Potra 400NC or VC, if dull - because everyone seems to recommend
it. I'll do some shots with available light only, and maybe stick a 400iso
B+W film in the OM2 and use 35-70/3.6 and 135/2.8 for some more atmospheric
shots. And I'll probably use the tripod for portraits. I'll get one of my
sons, or another guest to assist.

My main regret now is not having a more powerful flash and a bracket. Still,
we'll do our best with what what's there, and will some good weather!

Nice to hear some positive associations with Ireland. It's lovely here when
it stops raining...

Thanks again,

Ben
