Age is unavoidable, and good beer is not to be avoided.

Maybe I'm missing something here (not the first time), but why
not use the split image biprism (in screens 1-13 and 2-13) to
focus?  My eyes have some additional problems (not relevant here)
and so I always use the split image lines to focus.  If the light
is good enough, I can often also use the outside of the biprism
to fine tune the focus.  Admittedly, the split image cannot be
used effectively on objects with no straight lines.
