I have one and it does a decent job under Windoze. I haven't tried it on other 
platforms.  It provides decent scans and I got mine at a very good price 
US$179, I think.

The next alternative in terms of price, the HP S20, is a piece of crap in my 
opinion, having tried one.

It's not such a great scanner that I'll throw away all of my old negatives, 
but at least I've managed to capture some of the Ektachromes before they've 
gone totally wonky.

For me, the small size means I can cache it nearly anywhere.
