I wasn't  taking anything "seriously" :-)  I just wanted to get a feel for the 
noise level of 
the LS-4000, when I could hardly see any on my LS 40's.
The one thing that I like less about my scanner is that most scans come out 
with a 
slight  blue/cyan cast. Earlier I used to fix that with a touch of the blue (or 
cyan)
curve in PS  but I have discovered that a better way to do it is by reducing 
the blue 
 setting for the 'analog gain' by 0.8 or less. I hear that all coolcscan  
scanners are
plagued by this problem.  How  about  yours ?
