I calibrate my monitor using the Optical and a Spyder, and the LS-4000 definitely gives a blue cast to just about all the slides film I use, including Provia F400 and Sensia 200. I think it's a bit better on the print film and Kodachrome. This is using Nikonscan. Vuescan does a better job in this regard but is useless in capturing solid blacks.
