Wasn't it Bill Gates who said that 640 Kb is more memory than anyone
would ever need?

It was Thomas Watson, at the time the Chairman of IBM:

"Nearly 60 years ago, IBM Chairman Thomas Watson said, "I think there is
a world market for maybe five computers."

Tom

That's just like the two computer statements that I can paraphrase:

1. From the late 1950's, some guy from GE or the US Government said that
he could see the global market for computers at 5 or 6, tops

2. From Kenneth Olson, founder/president of DEC: "There is no reason for
any individual to have a computer in their home." (Ken Olson,
President, Digital Equipment, 1977)

Ahhh, how history repeats itself.....
