I bought some 'aftermarket' inks for my Epson 800, made by "Coraljet". They
seem to work well, if anything the black is darker than my Epson cartridge.
Cost was about 600f the Epson brand black and color cartridges. When these
are gone I plan to try refilling and see what happens.

I don't know if the 1280 uses the cartridges with a computer chip inside, I
think those might not be easily replicated in the aftermarket (or refilled).
The cost of the inks heavily subsidizes the cost of the printers, but I wish
they'd subsidize the cost of the new Epson 2200 printer down a bit more...
