There are also some recommendations re what sort of lens is best suited,
and how best to adjust the macro settings; I will send you a scan tonight.

Re Ben's quality query, the best converters are usually 7-element (6 for
Tamron's flat-field converter).

Good question! I asked the same when someone replied off list that they
had the 'instructions'! It seems there some warnings about using long
heavy lenses, and then adjusting the macro level - it can stress the
internal mechanism. (I was looking for recommendations on what you do with
the prime lens focus/zoom settings, and which piece you adjust first...)

Jez,

As a matter of interest, what would you expect to learn from an instruction
sheet?

Also, has there been much discussion on the list about quality of non Oly
tele-macro converters? Or of the optimal uses?. I have a Sigma 2x MC (4
element, I think) tele-macro, which I've always assumed would be inferior
to
extension tubes for macro work. Useful, I appreciate, for doubling the
focal
length of teles. Should my Sigma perform well - and with which lenses
particularly?
