Yes, it's a silvernose. This refers to the bright finish on the front of the 
filter ring, and other forward - facing components. They are "revered" only 
because this is the earliest finish, and some find it more attractive. Most 
lenses were originally single coated, and it's a pretty good bet that any 
silvernose will be SC, *EXCEPT* certain lenses which were always MC. The F2 
wide angles, 200/4 180/2.8 were all produced as silvernose with letter prefixes 
and are *ALL* MC. (did I forget any?)
