Hi folks,

I was unexpectedly in a position to put into practice what I wrote and we
discussed a week ago.

Last weekend I had a chance to visit my son at University 200 miles away
and this also provided photo opportunities.

I took with me an OM4ti (Fuji Superia Reala) and and OM1 (Kodachrome 64).

Zuikos 300/4.5, 75~150/4, 50/1.8MIJ, 24/2.8, 35/2.8 shift, 100/2; & Samyang
18~28.
QA310 flash & BG1
Oh, and I nearly forgot; a Zuiko 35~105/3.5~4.5 with close-focus mode.

Most of this fits in (all if I really want) a converted Lethalite Jetline
briefcase
that has been commandeered for this type of work for at least 15 years and
has done it around the globe.

Plus a lightweight Linhof tripod in a carry-bag with shoulder-strap.

Well, I could have predicted - maybe I did. When walking with others and not
wanting to delay them overly, I used the 35~105 for about 900f the 60 or
so shots I took. I used it from 35 right up to 105, and also the close-focus
mode (they call it macro but it is not macro).I used it for shots in some of
the
fine gardens in Dunedin and along the coast, and for taking group shots in
College; as well as a nature ramble. With it I was able to take tightly framed
and composed shots at all focal lengths that should need no cropping.

Where I had more time available and could use the tripod, I used the
Samyang 18~28 and the Zuiko 35/2.8 shift for less than 10 shots; maybe
less than 5. As it turned out, other than half-a dozen shots with the
50/1.8MIJ, I might as well have left the others at home. But one never knows
and having them there was comforting knowledge.

Except when I have lots of time to match lens with subject, and no
weight/bulk carrying limitations, the 35~105 is by far my most-used lens.

Brian
