I have this day suffered a tremendous loss! My good lady wife is off in
St. Louis to attend the wedding of a nephew, and I have been left to my own
devices here in Atlanta, where, for the first time in months, it has rained
with some regularity, including last night.

Besides keeping an eye on the List (and posting excessively) and watching
football on the telly, I have been in and out of the woods behind the house
taking macro shots of the many varieties of fungi the recent rains have
caused to erupt. While so engaged, admittedly with beer in hand, I slipped
on the wet leaves, and, while flailing and floundering around, I tipped
over the tripod that supported the OM-4Ti and it's many attached goodies,
whereupon a collision with a nearby yellow poplar tree occurred, which
de-footed one perfectly good Olympus T Power Control 1. Much profanity,
far too much for a pleasant Sunday, ensued, and farily loudly, I will
confess. The OM-4Ti, 65-116 auto tube, T28 twins and 135/4.5 Zuiko
survived unscathed, but the T-1 may be trash. The foot is hanging on only
by wires.

Since I also have the T8 and T10 ring flashes, it occurred to me long ago
that I would be up s**t?s creek if something happened to the T-1. So,
being by nature pessimistic, I bought a spare. Now the spare is no longer
the spare but now is IT. Luckily, B&H had a used one for $200 less than a
new one, and I just bought it.

I feel a bit better now. Ain?t e-commerce wonderful? Maybe another beer
and it'll be all right.

John, Clint, can this thing be fixed?

Walt
