The best slide viewer I've ever seen is the Angenieux of about 30 years ago.
It used a parabolic mirror, rather than a lens. The image was sharp and free
of chromatic aberration.
I still have mine. I assume it is no longer manufactured.
I still have mine too, although the battery springs have bulged and
split the plastic a bit on the side. Best slide view ever. Have not
seen one for sale in many years.
