Eric,

It is easy for a moment of exasperation to lead to a regretted decision. I essentially learned how to shoot with a Leica M3 purchased when a new one could be had with lens for less than $300. I used it for many years before it and its many accessories were stolen and I did not think I could replace it. It took a while to find my way to the OM4T I bought new in the late 80's. As wonderful as it is, far superior to the Canon F1 I had a fling with, the OM4T took years of use to get to the level of instinctive use I had with the Leica, if I ever have. It says nothing about the equipment, just about me, and, I think, many people. It is difficult to transfer skills to something that operates so differently.

My advice is to be patient, get the old stuff fixed and even to pay a premium to import good used equipment unless the wonderbrick really has something you can't live without. There are a few people on this list who have tried other systems and have come back.
