Hello,

I hope some of you remember me... :-)

The model plate says:

"93 type 50 cm 'observation glass box'
(serial) No. 8411
Manufactured February 1944
Asahi Optics (PENTAX Corporation today)"

'Observation glass' is an old Japanese military term and includes 
optics like binoculars too. I'm not sure about the 'box', it may be 
'housing' or 'body' or 'chassis' or something like that.
