This sounds credible, and my 4T plus my 21/3.5 does this too (should have
tested). I withdraw my earlier conclusion:

> look through the viewfinder and see whether your eyes agree with the meter. If

What I love about trying to explain something one hasn't seen before and
don't have authoritative third-party explanations for, is that one can use
other knowledge, give it one's best logical shot, and still be a gasbag. :-)
