My network is used by a total of two people most of the time...my wife and
me. Once in a while one other person. I can only blame internal problems on
one of us and she doesn't put up with any of that crap coming her way. Even
though I know I'm only marginally competent I can't afford to fire me.
External problems with DSL were frustrating because both the phone company
and the ISP claimed their stuff was fine...but I kept losing service. My
expert techie friend couldn't solve the problems either, and he's a
networking specialist. The DSL service is now gone and a cable modem is, so
far, performing very well. I also have a Cisco 675 router for sale if any
brave soul wants one. As of right now, my modem is moding, my network is
netting, and my computer is puting along so it's time for a nice cold beer.
Perhaps I can get back to thinking about OM stuff. /jim

happen too. 'Course I've got tens of thousands of customers
using my network...
