Actually I'm finding more equipment can be a distraction from taking
pictures, and I don't even have much of a 'collection' like some. It takes
time to look around and buy, time to test used stuff and deal with the
glitches, and time to 'digest' a new piece of equipment and really learn to
work with it. You can have too many choices when considering how to shoot
something, and it engages the rational side of the mind when perhaps the
intuitive should be in charge.

Plus, I've tended to used f3.5's and a 2.8 in midrange lengths and I find
myself a little reluctant to take a recent 4T and 50/2 into situations where
they might get *scratched*! I'm sure I'll get over this, get them all
brassed up, then I'll feel better - that's the way it goes with cars, bikes
and canoes. Maybe I should get the steel wool out and get it over with. :-)
