I had thought of that after hearing the claims of the people who have them,
but they contend that on trips to Prince Edward Island (over 1,000 km from
Ottawa here in Canada) they say their millage is still better.  Go figure.

Those computers are doing instantaneous calculations, and may very well be
accurate at a particular point in time.  I remember watching such devices
tell me I'm getting 70mpg while coasting down a long incline.  Watch the
same computer when you get on it pulling away from rest...  1 or 2mpg.

Now this is interesting.  Two neighbours of mine have cars with "trip
computers" in them.  Both say the highway millage is better than the
"sticker" millage.  Go figure....
