Or even OVER the clearance, if your vehicle is heavy enough!

When I used to run photo trips, I had an 18-passenger (plus driver) bus, the 
size of a bread-truck, with dual wheels on the back.

After one of those big snowstorms that puts Washington DC out of commission for 
a week, I managed to drive it out of our neighborhood to a main highway. I was 
pushing snow up over the hood and onto the windshield! When I went back, I 
measured a good 6" of snow above where my chassis dragged! The neighbors drove 
in and out of the neighborhood in my tracks for a week until the street finally 
got plowed!

This was without snow tires or chains.
