Here's a half-baked idea for a TOPE exhibition.
By my count (using an supra-terrestrial stealth robot program that is able to
exit the computer of List members via the mouse though the hand and
interrogate "our" dedicated Zuiko brain-cells) there are 20 List members with
the fabled Zuiko 35~80. Quite a high proportion of a population for a lens of
this price and rarity since the List totals somewhere around 600-700.
Many more have one of the 35~70 lenses.
What about a TOPE idea starting with the condition that if you have a 35~80,
that has to be used; if not, use a 35~70 if you have one; if not either of the
foregoing use the lens with the formulation nearest to 35~70-80; 50mm if
need be. One objective of the exhibition to be to create an image
demonstrating the best special qualities of the lens. Maybe extend the
permitted shooting time back.
Could require a second image that is a pre-defined size enlargement of part
of the primary image, to show definition at maximum usable enlargement.
Other conditions could be built in; haven't thought it through any more.
