I was in China, when I met what I felt was the most nicest frenchman I've ever met. He truly changed my perspective on the french. So he says my french comments are echoed by him.

Could be true... Paris is special - although it is a beautiful city. I'm originally from southern France, lived in Paris for 20 years, but I'm glad now to have returned to a much happier and more relaxed way of life, in Lyon, a rather large town (the 2nd or 3rd in France), but very nice (one of UNESCO "World patrimony" cities).

Maybe in addition to the "Paris stress", the behaviour of the customs people at CDG airport is just... you know, French administration syndrome - not renowned for its suavity.
