I have had a LNIB 28-80 for a while, but am waiting for better weather to
test it in comparison with some other zooms. It has a good reputation, as
do most Tamron SP lenses. It has continuous focussing to a max macro ratio
of 1:3.6, and closest focus to 36cm at 80mm. Note that closest focus at
28mm is abot 90cm; a bit far for a wide-angle lens.
You could also try a Tokina AT-X 28-85mm f3.5-4.5, which is a pretty sharp
lens, focuses to about 30cm at 85mm with a separate close focus range, and
around 80cm at 28mm.

I have long wanted to have an OM zoom that is 28 on the wide, and 80 to 90
mm on the long end.

Is the above lens a good one? Anyone who is familiar with it?
