I have a Vivitar 28-80 RL edition. I picked it up new a few years back from
a clearance table at a camera store. It is an all metal quite well built
lens that is satisfactory to me. When I got it, I sent an email to Vivitar
asking what the RL stood for. I forget their exact answer, but it was to the
effect that it indicated a limited edition of that lens, but nothing special
beyond that.
