I've got the 410 Gear Head (sounds like it should have a hemi...) on a 3011
tripod, and its plenty sturdy enough for a 300/4.5. This makes a very solid
combination, I think it would hold 5-10lb very securely. The gear action
makes it easy to adjust the alignment in small increments.
